SCS/HBs 648, 477 & 805 - This act allows a driver training instructor certified by DESE or a qualified instructor of a private drivers's education program to occupy the seat next to the permit holder. This act states that the 20 hours of behind- the-wheel instruction may include the time that the permit holder spends with a driver training instructor. If the applicant is enrolled in a federal residential training program, that instructor is authorized to sign the application stating that the applicant will receive 20 hours of driving instruction.

This act contains an emergency clause. Provisions of this act are similar to ones contained in SCS/SB 36 (2001).
