SCS/HB 642 - This act requires the state to pay medical costs of state prisoners held in county jails.

This act also authorizes regional jail commissions to have a 1/8%, 1/4%, 3/8%, or 1/2% regional sales tax for the purpose of operating a regional jail district, if the voters of the district give their approval. The regional jail provisions of this act sunset on August 28, 2015.
