Current Bill Summary

SJR 20 - This proposed constitutional amendment, if approved by the voters, eliminates funding to other state agencies, other than MoDOT, from highway user revenues (motor fuel tax, registration fees, etc.).

This act also amends the Missouri Constitution so that 100% of the motor vehicle sales tax is deposited in the State Road Fund. Currently, only one-half of the sales tax on motor vehicles is deposited in the State Road Fund. This particular provision of the amendment is similar to SJR 15 (2001).
