SB 573 - St. Louis City Board of Police Commissioners is allowed to sell insurance coverage to spouses or dependents of deceased retirees at the same cost as if the retiree was alive. Current law does not provide spouses or dependents the ability to purchase such insurance coverage.

The act authorizes the St. Louis City Board of Police Commissioners to pay or grant compensatory leave to police officers of the rank of lieutenant and below who work a special event scheduled to last more than one day. The additional compensation or compensatory leave will accrue at a rate of one- half hour earned per one hour worked, or the pro rata equivalent.
