Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 564 - This act would require the Department of Public Safety to maintain and provide owners with a list of qualified inspectors of amusement rides. Should the Department not have any reasonably available qualified inspectors, the owner or the owner's designated representative will perform the inspection themselves and would then be required to re-inspect the ride within 60 days of notification from the Department of the availability of a qualified reasonably available inspector. The provisions for self inspection will terminate on December 31, 2003.

The act has an emergency clause.
