Current Bill Summary

SB 174 - This act requires the Division of Family Services to provide an annual report on the progress of welfare reform in Missouri. The Division must deliver its first report by December 1, 2001, and must report annually thereafter to the Governor and General Assembly. The report should include, but not be limited to, statistics and recommendations on:

1. Individuals who have successfully left welfare and their employment;

2. Individuals who have remained on or returned to welfare; and

3. The benefits of welfare reform realized by families, employers, and the state.
