SB 610 - This act requires that motorcyclists under 21 years wear helmets. Currently, all motorcyclists are required to wear helmets.

Every person who desires to ride upon a motorcycle without a helmet shall file with the director of revenue a security bond or medical insurance policy in the amount of $100,000 to cover the person's medical expenses.

Every person must furnish proof of financial responsibility by demonstrating that he or she has a motor vehicle liability policy subject to the minimum limits outlined in section 303.190.

Every person who rides a motorcycle shall be required to submit to a breathalyzer test before riding on such vehicle.

All operators of motorcycles and motor tricycles shall wear a seat belt.

This is act is similar to SB 294 (1999).
